About Lancaster Free Methodist Church
Our church is located in the heart of Lancaster and we are a family church who are passionate about seeing lives transformed by Jesus Christ.
The church, which was planted over 30 years ago, is made up of people of all ages and backgrounds including a healthy mix of children, young adults and families. The vision of the church is encapsulated in "CONNECT - SERVE - TRANSFORM". We have a contemporary and relaxed style making use of a wide range of multi-media resources to communicate the truth of Christianity in relevant ways.
As a family church, we are committed to growing sustainably in a way that helps people to know true freedom through the abundant life Jesus promised. We seek to do this through such means as life groups, pastoral care ministry, an active and far reaching missions ministry, and youth and children’s ministries. We are also committed to reaching out to hurting, broken lives through developing practical, relevant Christian ministries that meet people at their point of need.
Being a church in a small city with two universities, we are particularly blessed with a large number of young adults, who are prepared to get involved and serve in the life of the church. We also have a growing number of babies, toddlers, primary school age children, and an active group of teenagers. We also have plenty of families and a healthy number of more mature people!
We encourage everyone to connect with a life group, which are located in homes around the city and meet on a fortnightly basis. We also have a fruitful ministry serving and helping those who are broken, and recovering from past hurts and habits (see additional information on Celebrate Recovery and the Adullam Programme) and aim to integrate them successfully into church life.
